 Description

Is anyone else getting frustrated with these "Connects" on Upwork, or is it just me? Before, you could still apply for projects normally, but now it seems like you have to spend money just for the chance to get a job. And there’s no guarantee they’ll even review your application. As a result, you can end up spending a pretty penny just on applications in a month, and there’s absolutely no guarantee of a return. It’s starting to feel more like a lottery than a normal freelance platform.

Hey, just sharing something I came across after a long night of browsing. I was trying to compare platforms and ended up reading about an upwork alternative. I clicked mostly out of frustration, but stayed because it explained things in a very practical way. What I liked most was the transparency around how freelancers present themselves—it didn’t feel cluttered or overly competitive, more like a steady workflow environment.

Yeah, you’re not the only one who finds this frustrating. I’ve felt the same way, especially when I started actively sending out proposals—Connects just disappear really fast. And the worst part is that even with a solid profile and experience, there’s no guarantee the client will even respond. It feels like it’s really hard to get noticed there right now without spending extra money on boosts. I’ve already started reaching out less often and am focusing more on working with the clients I already have, because otherwise it really ends up being expensive and isn’t always worth it.
