 Description

Please adopt, if you appreciate as reasonable, the default optimization mode for the whole document the "Numeric" mode.

Diferentiate graphicaly every region according its Optimization Mode.

Again a new user has contributed an example, where symbolic evaluation in a definition leads to wrong results.

http://en.smath.info/forum/yaf_postsm13540_Calculation-bug.aspx#post13540

This example demonstrates how severe the problem is, because there is no chance to recognize the problem at all if you are not overly suspicious and double check with other software.

Of course, in a better world I would like to have a reliable symbolic engine in SMath. In the meantime we should avoid every new user being frustrated (in the best case) or silently producing scrap (in the worst case) by setting the default optimization to none or numeric in assignments.

Therefore I changed the priority to "high"

Maybe, could be an improvement to add an option in the settings panel to select the favorite default optimization.
