sMath's competition - sMath's place in the market - Messages

WroteSomehow a comment I made on an old PTC forum thread turned to sMath if you are at all interested. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you had experience with ever creating custom Mathcad functions and what you might have to say about it if you don't mind sharing.
Mathcad/Mathsoft and PTC/Mathcad are different animals. The best Mathcad was 8 Pro.
Some programming structure between MCD Smath are 1/1 but many aren't at all.
For example: Bezier SVG comes out of Mathcad 8 Pro. in two lines scalar style.
The Smath counter part is much longer for identical discrete result.
From the latest Numerical integration, Smath comes out more easier for same
Adapt integration, though the MCD integrator is implemented slightly ≠
Smath solves and plot Mach supersonic on the canvas, that similar feature
I have no recollection MCD can do ?
I still visit my MCD 8 Pro, MCD 11 except that all my MCD 11 extension pack
are all dead since May 15 2015 15:00 the date PTC zapped all Mathcad 11
Single User Edition no matter if they were purchased legally.
I became aware Smath from Fred K. you were conversing with.
I joined Mathsoft Collaboratory from day 1, till 2010.

That is absolutely frightening. Living with the prospect of someone bricking my worksheets from a remote location is my compunction with doing business with an entity that doesn't offer perpetual licenses. I remember almost 20 years ago as a high school student I bought a software called "DVD X Copy Platinum" and then the legislature said that it was illegal and shut the company down so that nobody could activate it anymore. I know how that feels and would be a great deal more distraught if it concerned my workflow.
I'm not familiar with Mathcad or its extensions enough to follow why they don't work anymore. You can still open and use Mathcad 11 but not its extension packs?

Wrotedoing business with an entity that doesn't offer perpetual licenses.
... like Monsanto => you don't own the seeds that you have purchased.
This Canadian farmer lost his case in Supreme Court ... fXXXXX supreme idiots.
My MCD 11 still runs on XP Pro. because XP Pro. is not protected by the
Macrovision anti-copy system. So, as PTC resigned their contract with
Macrovision, all XP Home Edition got zapped, impossible to recover.
Brilliant Jean purchased a backup XP Pro PC. More brilliant, my technician
made a back to back copy then w/o the Macrovision protection, because
XP Pro does not have this protection.
PTC had tasted my cannons not to avail as their MCD 14 was made incompatible
with previous Mathsoft 11.
My love for Mathsoft Mathcad 8 Pro, 11 is still intact, lovely visit.
But now: I'm obsessed by Smath.
Like my little Amelie when she was little: Do you like Princess ?
GarndPa, I don't like Princess, I'm obsessed by Princess ... OK !
Extension packs had to be registered, then zapped.
As a revenge, PTC lost the gorgeous Maple symbolic.
