Functions and Regional Settings
It is important to note that SMath has a very good
Multilanguage and
Regional Setting support. Therefore, the user should take care about the Regional settings.
NOTE: See the argument and decimal separator character in the
Arithmetic palette.
Here is the example of the Regional Settings when
comma is the
function argument separator and
point is the
decimal separator
These settings are mainly used in the English part of the wiki.
For many European languages, the SMath could be used with
semicolon as the
function argument separator and
comma as the
decimal separator

NOTE: There is also a possibility to change the function argument and decimal separators without leaving SMath. You can change it from
Tools=>Options=>Interface dialog box. There are
Decimal symbol and
Arguments separator options.
Built-in Functions
The names of the built in functions depend on the menu option
Tools=>Options and the
Interface tab. There are two options under
Functions style :
World and
Europe. For instance, function for the inverse cosine is
acos in the
World style and
arccos in the
Europe style:
 World |
 Europe |
NOTE: The saved files will be opened and the function names will be used according to the chosen style. It is not possible to change the style in the active file - the error (unknown function) will occur.
These are some of the
built in functions for SmathStudio.
These functions are not built in but you might need to use them
