Functions

Functions and Regional Settings
It is important to note that SMath has a very good
Multilanguage
and
Regional Setting
support. Therefore, the user should take care about the Regional settings.
NOTE: See the argument and decimal separator character in the
Arithmetic
palette.
Here is the example of the Regional Settings when
comma
is the
function argument separator
and
point
is the
decimal separator
These settings are mainly used in the English part of the wiki
.
For many European languages, the SMath could be used with
semicolon
as the
function argument separator
and
comma
as the
decimal separator
NOTE: There is also a possibility to change the function argument and decimal separators without leaving SMath. You can change it from
Tools=>Options=>Interface
dialog box. There are
Decimal symbol
and
Arguments separator
options.
Edit
Built-in Functions
The names of the built in functions depend on the menu option
Tools=>Options
and the
Interface
tab. There are two options under
Functions style
:
World
and
Europe
. For instance, function for the inverse cosine is
acos
in the
World style
and
arccos
in the
Europe style
:
World
Europe
NOTE: The saved files will be opened and the function names will be used according to the chosen style. It is not possible to change the style in the active file - the error (unknown function) will occur.
These are some of the
