64bit oder 32 bit?

SMath Studio und die meisten Plugins können sowohl auf 32bit- als auch auf 64bit-CPUs laufen. Werden allerdings über das Plugin MathCad User EFI Interface alte Bibliotheken angebunden, die nur als 32bit laufen können, muss SMath im 32bit-Modus ausgeführt werden.

SMath Studio and most of the plugins can rund as 32bit or 64bit process. If any of the plugins requires 32bit then SMath must run as 32bit application as well. An example for such plugins is the MathCad User EFI Interface with old libraries. In such cases, a special version of the SMath executable is required.

Auf einem 64-bit System läuft das offizielle SMath Studio als 64-bit Programm, während das SMath Studio der inoffiziellen portablen Version als 32-bit Programm ausgeführt wird.

On a 64-bit system the official SMath executable runs as 64-bit, whereas the executable of the inofficial version runs as 32 bit program.

Installationsverzeichnis

Installation directory

Bei der Windows Installer Version kann das Verzeichnis im Installer gewählt werden. Die portable und die Linux Version können an beliebiger Stelle entpackt werden.

Using the windows installer you can choose the install directory. The portable and the Linux version can be unpacked to an arbitrary directory.

Im Installationsverzeichnis wird eine Ordnerstruktur angelegt:

Einstellungsverzeichnis

Settings directory

Im Einstellungsverzeichnis werden benutzerspezifische Daten gespeichert. Das sind:

In the settings directory, user specific data is stored

- Benutzereinstellungen (Datei settings.inf)

- user settings (file settings.inf)

- Verzeichnis nachgeladener Erweiterungen (Verzeichnis extensions) - Dateien, die von wfile() geschrieben werden.

- directory "extensions", where downloads via extension manager are stored - files written by the wfile() function

Das Einstellungsverzeichnis kann mit der Funktion SettingsDirectory aus dem Plugin Custom Functions ermittelt werden.

You can identify the settings directory using the corresponding function from the Custom Functions plugin.

Will man das Einstellungsverzeichnis im Installationsverzeichnis haben, dann muss man eine leere Datei namens "portable.version" in das Installationsverzeichnis legen.

If you want to have the settings dir contents to reside in the install directory, just put an empty file "portable.version" into the install dir (next to the exe).

Das ist zum Beispiel sinnvoll, wenn man die Installation auf einem mobilen Datenträger an verschiedenen Orten aber mit gleichen Benutzereinstellungen betreiben will.

That may be useful if you want to run SMath from a mobile data storage on different computers with identical settings.

Current Directory

Das aktuelle Verzeichnis kann mit der Funktion CurrentDirectory() aus dem Plugin Mathcad Fike Access bestimmt und geändert werden.

The current directory can be identified and set using the function CurrentDirectory() from the Mathcad File Access plugin.

Verzeichnis des aktuell offenen Dokuments

Directory of the currently open document

Damit Rechenblätter mit Zugriff auf externe Dateien portabel sind, müssen die Dateinamen relativ zum offenen SMath-Dokument sein. Allerdings interpretieren einige Dateizugriffsfunktionen relative Dateinamen mit Bezug auf das aktuelle Verzeichnis des Betriebssystems, die sich von dem des offenen Dokuments unterscheiden kann.

The only reliable way to make SMath sheets with file I/O portable is to use paths relative to the current document. However, some file access functions interpret relative paths as relative to the system's current directory, which may be different from where the currently open document is stored.

Die Funktion DocumentDirectory() liefert das Verzeichnis des aktuell offenen Dokuments.

Die Funktion GetFolderPath() aus dem Plugin Mathcad File Access liefert den Pfad zu Windows-Systemverzeichnissen, die durch eine Kennzahl identifiziert werden.
