Description
The description texts associated to function definitions are not updated if the function is re-defined. For ordinary variables this seem to work.

Yes (or to be more precise, I normaly use the green button for re-calculation). I just double-checked with F9 and still get the same behaviour. The description of f() is not updated but the description of a is (change is reflected downstream the sheet)

Manual re-calculation does not solve the problem. The second display of description(f(x)) should show "Opt: sym". Manual recalculation does not help.

This is known issue. The only way to fix it is to recalculate worksheet right after description of evaluable region is changed.
Unfortunatelly this solution cannot be accepted due to performance.
So it is a best practice: if you're working with description() function, then manually recalculate the worksheet after description changed for any important for you region.
