Hi all

I would like to ask about a function in excel. What İf

If you know , this function gives the variables for the desired results.

For example f(x)= y , input y and get x

Is there any similar function at smath?

Regards

f(x)= y , input y and get x ... This is inversing a function
Excel "Target value" is more ancient than Excel. In fact, it comes from
the co-founders of Excel TKsolver.
For single value of 'y' you can use Smath solve(2), solve(4) ...
Otherwise, if you want to InverseFunction it comes from Smath/Maple.
Visit "Samples" for a huge Smath document that covers most possible
ways of doing this most advanced piece of maths.

Get initiated with this minimalist introduction.

if('condition','true','false') - Returns 'true'-statement if logical 'condition'-statement is true (non-zero), 'false'-statement otherwise.

ADVICE: Choose it from the Programming palette

The "if" programming tool returns a value depending on Boolean 'condition'. Boolean condition can be formed by using Boolean palette. Here is a simple example, returning numeric or symbolic result.

OK but your link has nothing to do with the demand,
i.e: solving 'x' for given 'y' in f(x)
Has been answered/exemplified.
