Hallo every one,
is it possible to solve equation like in mathcad only symbolic? For example an equation like this: 0=-Uq+Z1*I1+Z3*I3+Rs*I1 solved to Z3.
Many Thanks for Your help.

Hello,
the symbolic engine of SMath is quite unreliable. There is an external plugin providing an interface to the dos version of mapleV, which may do the job you asked for. The link is just to the directory because the current version is eventually updated.
SMath reproduces the look and feel of Mathcad but has lousy symbolic and graphic capabilities. If used with all due care, then it can still be very useful. In particular, the unit handling is powerful.

Ok und Grüße nach Potsdam , thanks for this information. It would be nice if the symbolic engine could be improved. I´d like to use smath completely instead of mathcad.

There is an interface to Maxima now. Have a look at the Handbuch.
If you don't care about license issues, you also can use the Maple plugin.
