Does anyone know of a way to plot a string (Using XY Plot) at a given angle?
Say that I specify the start point (x,y), string, size, and angle. \

Gnuplot can do this, see http://www.gnuplot.info/demo_5.1/textrotate.html .

In the Maxima plugin this is supported. Note that you have to provide at least one draw object for the user_preamble option to take effect.
Switching the format from png to svg or pdf in the settings menu (access via double click) produces better text quality.

Thanks Martin for the input. I was hoping there would be a simpler approach using just XY Plot.
