I am having trouble with the installation of the Excel i/o with PNG import plug-in. When I try to install plugin from tools I get a message plug-in installation failed. And when I look at the installed plug-in list the following shows up:

I am using smath studio desktop appVersion(4)="0.99.7251.32800" on Windows 10 Pro with excel 2007. I have also manually deleted the plug-in folder from the appdata/roaming/smath/extensions, then tried reinstalling with the same failed results. Thanks in advance for offered help.

I don't quite understand what you are trying to do.
*.PNG is a lossless image, save in your file system
in Smath => Insert => Picture => from File.
What is Excel doing in there ?
If Excel creates an *.PNG, it creates from data
Copy those data in BlocNotes, define a variable in Smath [typical data:= ]
Select all data from BlocNotes, paste in data:=
At this point: if you have a data set shown => Insert Image from Smath menu

This is an Smath surface plot ... captured WinGrab [freeware]
... saved *.PNG in my Snippets folder
... inserted in Smath from Insert=>Picture from file.

Thanks for the responses. But I am not really interested in the graphic parts of the plug-in. I am more interested in getting the plug-in to work because I have used it on many previous projects to exchange data between excel and smath. Trying not to redo all this work. This plug-in was working for me previously.

Works for me (MS Office 2019). From the error message seems that now the plugin requires MS Office 2013 (Version Number 15.0) instead of Office 2003 (Version Number 11.0).... It is possible that Viacheslav changed something in the latest update (August 2019) and you haven't yet tried the plugin in the environment that gives you this error message?

Davide,

I am thinking you are right and the plug-in is requiring a more up to date version of excel. The excel I have is 2007. Like you say version 15.0 is excel 2013 so that is the new minimum version.

Thanks

Yep, I guess [userlink]uni[/userlink] might try to restore some back-compatibility (if compatible with the latest refactoring) or the plugin description has to change to reflect the new requirements.

I changed the code but can't build it. Try this version for now. Unpack it to \extensions\plugins folder.
