Add text to result? - Is it possible to ad text to result - fx currency (text only) - Messages

Hi!
I would like the possibility to add text to the calculations - fx when calculating with money.
Is this possible (currency is not in the unit-section - I know there are workarounds, but....).
Actually, I just want to add text, not "active" units!
Fx
10 Euro+ 20 Euro = 30 Euro
Can this be done?
Thanx for your time

Do not let the developer know, that you try to avoid one of the most exciting features of SMath Studio ;-)
In fact, it is very easy. Just use undefined variable names and switch to symbolic optimization in the context menu or use the symbolic evaluation button in the Arithmetics panel (it is marked -> but produces a = sign). The drawback of symbolic optimization is that you cannot display decimal fractions, even if they would represent the result without error.
This drawback is avoided if using units. You are always free to use custom units, there is no need to pre-declare them, unless you want conversions to happen automatically.
Just prepend a single quote ' to any name in order to make it a unit (fit for use in numerical evaluation).

Hi!
Thanx so much - a simple and effective solution! I played around a lot yet I did'nt find it
I'll remember the small ' !
And I agree totally: It would be great to have currency incorporated into the standard units!

Merry Xmas - and soon: Happy New Year!
Regards
/Erik

Did you try the CurrencyUnits plugin? Besides the definition of currency units, it has real time exchange rates.
SetCurrencyUnits.sm (18 KiB) downloaded 41 time(s).
