Maximize & Minimize Functions - Functions to Maximize (Profit) & Minimize (cost) - Messages

Hi,
I am searching for functions either to (a) Maximize the profits subject to certain conditions or (b) Minimize the cost of work or output. Something like Maximize & Minimize functions in Mathcad 15.
Can somebody help me with an example?

Look for example the NonLinearSolvers plugin by Davide Carpi and find the the appropriate optimization function.
You can try Maxima or Maple plugins as well (see the Refeence Book by Martin Kraska).
