Don't burn your Handbooks yet,
you may have to sanity/trace projects anterior to Units.

Just like the old days. I really love the phrase about him on eng-tips forum after he left (kicked?) mathcad.
"I miss Jean having around, one could learn so much by watching his assertions being comprehensively demolished."

Quite true, my last attachment to PTC incompetent Forum
was downloaded 2000 times in one day.
T.G. left first, me next soon.

Don't skip that part.

Some of your samples are so wrong that when people trying to correct you, others learn very detailed.
People not learn from you, they learn despite you.

That's the difference.

Mathsoft didn't demolished my contribution to DAEP.
1. Thiele ... unfortunately they didn't complete.
2. Spline 2 ... well implemented.
3. Reduced technique to fit T/C's ... LabView replied delighted.
4. GenfitMatrix ... unfortunately they didn't finished.
DAEP time line was a bit too short ~ 2 weeks.
End of it !

What happened was, "sane" experienced users have demolished your absurd discourse and ideas.
And they are still razing your gibberish claims to the ground.

Does the free version of SMath limit the units you can use? I'm trying out the personal version and where I input X inches * y inches it gives m^2 result. When I double clicked on the unit, there is no in^2 option under the area tab.

Default units are metric, but you can change the result units. This is SMath basics. Probably a good idea to read some of the manuals or intro documents. There are some topics that discuss the use of imperial units already. Do a topic search for “imperial”. Good luck.

Results shall be mostly shown by SI base units (m, s, kg, mol, cd, K, A).
For example, result is neither mm^2 or acre too in your example.
SMath supports American or British units, but there is a trick.
For inch or inch^2 or anything else beside SI base unit, you will need to enter it manually.
