Hey Guys,

actually my goal was to demonstrate the advantage of plotting with the maxima plugin vs. SMath plot capability. As a function to plot I decided to use a throwing parabola.

I double checked everything what came to my mind. For example correct evaluytion of cos² and tan functions.
What bothers me most is that the plot shows a linear function. Which of course comes from the results of my function "y" - which somehow is incorrect.

The error somehow comes from my definition of the "x.1" values. "y(0*m)" should evaluate to zero but it doesn't. So I tried evaluating the formula value by value (below the plot) and the results are correct.
So the error is connected to my usage of the range(3)function. Can please someone explain? And maybe show a way to set a range of values where you want to investigate a function or how to use the range(3) correct or show it's limitations?

I do not see an error in the use of "range(3)" however having created a data vector "x1" and because in the formula such values must be squared, you must use vectorization.
However, you are not obliged to use "range(3)" as you can use the y(x) function to create the chart as you see in the attachment.
Finally, be careful of the units of measurement in the graphs.
