I have been unable to get sessions to work in SMath. After looking at the documentation, it appears that a SMath server is required to "Start" a session. Is there a server built into SMath or is there server software available which can be downloaded, or am I missing some altogether. By the way, this is a great program. I would encourage anyone who uses SMath to make a donation.

Hello,

It seems that the dedicated SMath server is down regarding this feature. Actually, I think that Andrey officially did not released a Server software part of this feature (I tried some beta server software started inside my local network but long time ago - had problems with proxy server). I hope that in the version 0.9 there would all of these things be resolved.

BTW, could you please tell us about what documentation you are talking about. I've lost the track about it. I do not recall that there were any detailed description about this feature except the video explaining how to connect two computers in the same session.

Hello.

Unfortunately I have a serious problems with my server and sometimes I can't provide Teamwork Session Server stability. Because of that I want to share legacy version of server application here, so you can download it and use it in your network. Note: I can't support it for now and can't give you any warranties - use it as is.

SMath Studio Teamwork Session Server

SSTSS_20100821.exe (Date: 21.08.2010. File size: 18KB) - .Net Framework 2.0 required.

And here is how you can connect to this app from SMath Studio client: don't forget to set your server PC IP into the Start Session textbox (as shown on the picture below) and to open 1986 TCP port (in/out) on your server.

Best regards, Andrey Ivashov.

P.S.: Radovan, this is a newer version than one I gave to you some time ago.

Hello Andrey,

I am very glad to here from you at the Forum
I've also noted some instability with the SMath servers. They do not work for some shorter periods of times, but not so frequently.

Thanks for the replies. I wanted to use the "sessions" feature in my class. I will download the Teamwork server and give a try. Once again, thanks for the prompt feedback and access to the Teamwork server software.

Hello,

Here is an example from my classroom (four computers connected)

I hope the Students tumbnails are visible. This is a picture from the Teacher computer monitoring Students.

Regards,
Radovan

P.S. Andrey, I remembered that the resizing plots is not working on all the connected users
