Symbolic result for sum(#) - Messages

Hi. Thanks Overlord. I don't see these other problem. What make troubles for me is the fact that sum don't returns the symbolic values but numerical approximations, in this case for sqrt(17). I expect to see sum(vec) = 5/sqrt(17) instead the rational showed. I introduce the "x" value just for check if sum have some eval() function somewhere. But then ... ups, another issue simplifying 1+4.
