I am sure there must be a number of uses, including in collapse mechanisms of structures.

Thanks loha. It is intended for those who have to analyze a mechanism as part of another project, or for a mechanism course that does not require a specialized simulator, for example in careers like mechatronic engineering, where they already have enough to handle.
The examples also show that not much effort is required to generate them, although it requires being aware of the problems that the numerical solvers of a system of equations have. The examples on how to do it in other alternatives, such as matlab, show that a lot of effort is required to achieve the simulation of the simplest systems.
Furthermore, [P,W] = BarPW(θo,E,Po,Pg) returns the positions of the nodes (P) and the wireframe (W) for the animation as 'clean' matrices, that is, it allows further calculations, such as the stresses on some element in each stage of the cycle.
