How can I delete brackets of a formula without deleting or copy and pasting the content. (As described in the tutorial)

If I remember right it is possible using Backspace at the first position inside the brackets using Mathcad.

As far as I know there is no other way to get rid of redundant brackets except copying and pasting the contents overlapping unwanted brackets. I might be wrong, of course.
