Hi,

I was a bit suprised about the way the percentage function works.
It would look so much nicer if the percentage sign '%' would be used as postfix operator
(like the factorial operator "!").

I know that this will not always be an adequate replacement in a formula,
but for defining constants it would be great.
Maybe when you start implementing physical units you can treat percentage as a unit.

What can be done: (unfortunately [MATH lan=eng]'Prozent:0.01[/MATH] does not work)

'Prozent:0.01

2*'Prozent=0.02@#

{2*'mm}/'m=0.2@'Prozent

Using the % sign would be much more intuitive for the user. It is easy to write this on paper, the letter is easy to type, thus why not use it?

I have in mind the usage for mechanical engineering applications, e.g. for strain. Here even the per-thousand symbol would be welcome.

I tried to extend the units definitions (Units.xml under Entries)

This failed, just as the attempt to define a unit '% interactively fails. First obstacle is the binding of the %-key to the plus/minus-operator. Second obstacle is that when editing a unit name string the GUI doesn't even accept %-characters from the clipboard.

Best regards, Martin Kraska
