I am a new user of SMath and going to do a project about SMath and Mathcad in physical chemistry. It is very difficult for me beause of my poor mathematics. Does anyone can help me for the following questions?

1. What are the big difference between SMath and Mathcad?
2. Do you think the functions of SMath can be instead of Mathcad? If yes, which part is better? If no, which part should be upgreaded?
3.where can i learn more about how to use SMath and get more resources like examples?

SMath is not a clone despite of emulating mathcad's paper-like interface and some of its notation.
Also have in mind that SMath has not reached 1.0 version and it is already a useful and promising software.
There are some advantages of SMath over Mathcad :
* It is freeware
* It is lightweight + portable + mobile (Android next year) + supports Windows and Linux
* It allows to develop plugins despite being a closed source project (closed probably due to keep some control over the general goals and avoid messing with the symbolic engine)

Another difference/advantage: There is a beta 'live' version' to run SMath sheets online,
you asked about samples (well there is a board on this forum called 'samples' :d ) and guides (pdf guides on the 'download' board or 'apps' button above, as well as the wiki)

However, smath can save as 'xmcd' file which can be opened by mathcad. do you know why mathcad cannot save as 'sm' file?
what is the differences between 'mcd' file and 'sm' file?
