Personal SMath Server - Has anyone done this? - Сообщения

Has anyone successfully tried implementing their own dedicated SMath Server? I imagine that being something like a personal "Smath in the
Cloud" only where you can control the version and include any plugins and snippets you'd like. I know services like the AWS Appstream 2.0 could accomplish this, but that seems a bit overkill for my uses.
Personally I have devices with just about every OS. At work I use mostly Win7. At home I have OSX, ChromeOS, a couple spare linux boxes, and an old Windows box that I rarely use. I rely on Maxima or Maple plugins to perform some of the symbolic arithmetic when I'm at work, but I can't get these to work without VMs on non windows PCs. I was thinking it would be nice to setup a server and access my own copy of SMath that is the same no matter what device I'm using.
I could just setup an old Windows box and remote desktop and run SMath, but I'd like to implement some way open files locally on my PC if necessary.
Any thoughts?

No useful suggestions, but I like the idea. Having snippets available on each device would be great.

Actually having snippets available on multiple devices is not hard to do. I presently do this by using the portable version housed on a server. I can map that server to a location on my PC. Personally, I use Box and Box Sync to do this.
The problem with that approach is with non Windows PCs. I could run the portable version through VM or mono on a non-Windows PC, but the plugins don't always work.

± you are asking for a "virtual something" to execute about any OS [Win, Mac ...]
You may try "Google Maths" for freeware applications. For sure, you won't be able
to run Mathcad, Maple, Matlab ... etc.
