Hi everybody,

I think it would be a good idea to locate some global Template file in the SMath-directroy so that everybody can set their onw startup options like
- paper format and size
- default calculation accuracy
- default units for e.g. length, force, preassure
- default text-size
- ...

What do you think about it?

Hi,
thanks for reminding me of my older post ;-)
You've been answering some time before to that post and I wonder if there are more persons out there who would be happy to use this as an built in feature.

As you said it would be easy to set all the needed setting on an worksheet and then use this as a template file. But as I am working as a teacher you have to tell this all the pupils and although they are all using smartphones every day they are really computer-rookies!!!

So it would be great if SMath would load one default file from the installation-directory, so I can easily replace this and all the pupils can use the the same settings.

Regards

Wrote

- paper format and size

2... is by default SI
3... default text size => change for each text region [size, color, background]
1... default calculations: here, yourself and your "smartphone rookies"
are missing the boat of numerical maths. A lot of functions come with Windows
[trig, inverse trig, SQRT(x), X^Y, ln(x), exp(x) ... pi,e ] There is nothing Smath
can do about calculation accuracy. Those named functions come in 21 floating
point of which Windows retains 15. Other functions [Bessel, stat fncts ...]
Smath borrows from foreign code.

What you can do but that's not what you are asking for is: set the decimals of
the result from the work sheet option [0 .. 15 decimals]. Paper size, margins
from page setup.
