AFAIK, In Smath there is 0 possibility to decorate maths.
Even if there would be, you would have to define the decoration.
What you mean is decorate the left hand side of the formula to
define the right hand side otherwise decorated again.
The Mathcad Cntrl+Shift+K was great to instruct about the units
in the formula, but not carried in the program.
I noticed from Mike that Smath supports sinα²
in the work sheet: "Geographical distance" .

Hacking xml? Overbar in html: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overline#HTML_with_CSS . I don't know if SMath support Unicode. Also, don't know much about typeseting (I want the program do that for me, I refuse to take courses about that).
XML typeseting: http://asa.aip.org/phonsymbol.pdf . Can modify the xml of an archive once an then copy and paste overdot, vector, and the others?

I don't think you can do directly in Smath text, purely keyboard [Courier].
Whatever "decoration" from whatever source producer, Smath won't interpret the
code as math code ... just like Matlab, Maple. In Mathcad 11, the decoration is
simply ignored. I'm not familiar with Mathematica decoration [too old version].

I use charmap to copy-paste.
SMath supports Unicode in a sense that it allows you to use all the available font repertoire, but its font rendering is only limited to simple output, i.e. combining characters are not applied to preceeding characters.

You may wish to file an enhancement request at BTS.

Hi Mike. I don't know if is the right time for ask for it. SMath is an excellent software, and don't know enough about the develop stage, and maybe there are other priorities where apply that effort. So, just looking for a workaround in the meantime.

In math regions you can use a wide range of characters, but not combining characters/diacritical marks. In character map (charmap) you may found some character with overdot to use (ẋẍẏẗż). Is possible to develop functions that renders like you want (f.e. the built-in diff(1), or those in Custom Glyphs plugin).
You may ask in BTS however, maybe one day Andrey will enable combining characters or he may found a smart alternative (combining are ok for single characters, but you can't apply them to a whole word)

BTW if you need an overbar you can override the Conjugate function in Custom Functions plugin)



In Writer Region you should be able to use almost any character for the text, result is affected by the font family.

CharMap does not exist anymore XP Home. For sure I had it, even in task bar.
But, I have no clue why and by whom it has been removed from "System Tools".
Maybe by Windows itself during the last visit to XP [Jan 16, 2016].

It is still there from Excel => Insert => Symbol.

In the swicth to XP ,,,, decorations have changes to zombies

Present the project in Handbook style, constants/parameters wrt unit system,
plug in program unitless ... visible to all, universal comprehension
easy to QA [Quality Assurance], tracable => end of it.

Hi Jean.

Actually, this file is named overbar because was the Tom answer long time ago, when I ask for overdot and other math decorations for mathcad. If you check it don't have an overbar because the diacritical mark don't works, I guess that it is for the courier user font, but that's the file name where I store those characters.

Those symbols are glyphes, dead drawings for dead maths
No use in Smath. Only [Shift+key] & [Shift+0key] can
be used as variable names, for those compatible.
This one, integral symbol, is unique ∫(Φ):{2*x}/{1+x^2}

copy/paste in Smath: it crashes Smath and the entire PC !!!
