I was wandering why the Maxima operator does not appear in the recent SMath desktop version
as we are used to it like in the Portable version
Did I miss something?

Portable 6858 (64 bit) is ok if Maxima and Custom Glyphs are installed. Your screenshot shows portable 6839.
