Thank you verry much.

I am sorry, I see again function F(u), with variable x,
and function Int(z) with variable x ...
is something about in Wiki-Smath, or somewhere?

Like you say: confusing when not used.
The beauty of Smath is like Mathcad [Mathcad being the closest to Smath]
They are both numerical executors and algorithmic evaluators.
Visit "Samples" in few minutes, I will attach an old work sheet that
clarifies/disambigutes the algorithmic construction.

The variable of integration is 'x' only 'x' from the prime definition
The algorithm construct is in two steps, two steps that must carry
the prime variable of integration 'x' .

You could write F(granPa), Int(granMa) as long as both carry 'x'.
Revisit the work sheet again, use it as is, plug your function.
Smath in that kind of project is 1/1 Mathcad and any other,
just inductive coding compared to Matlab, Mathematica.

Hello Jean.
I made some experiments with integration:
http://en.smath.info/forum/yaf_postst7154_What-kinde-of-function-can-I-integrate.aspx

It seems to me, that it is not possible to inegrate an integral.
More exactly, Smath will do it, but not correctly...
Is that so?

(I have never seen MathCan nore MatLab ...)

This new work sheet should clarify/disambiguate integration from CAS [Computer Algebra System].
Maths literature varies from : skeletic/vague/incompletely inductive and else ...

Explaining CAS maths looks jargon, but jargon that works.

There seems to be a misunderstanding on how to use the CAS functions of the maxima plugin. The plugin can replace the built-in functions int(), diff(), sum(), lim() and det() including their operator representations. This, however, is disabled by default, you have to switch this on using the function MaximaTakeover(). There are some pitfalls in multi-document context, see the interactive handbook for details.

Switching off the CAS functions by default prevents the unaware user from accidentally running into maxima stuff. The SMath-Maxima translator has limitations, thus it makes sense to provide a by-region choice of using the native SMath functions vs. Maxima replacements.

In the interactive handbook you find some comparisons between Maxima and Maple and native SMath for the calculus functions under

Thanks Martin for your contribution.

I appreciate what Maxima does silently in Smath.
Your big PDF tutorial, do you forsee to publish in English ?

As you read this work sheet, you may wonder why
Mathcad spits in no time vs Smath that take ~ 15 min !!!

Mathcad is purely scalar and the integrator is coded
probably at the machine level. Smath is not a "scalar CAS",
it computes as an object and only in discrete mode.

Simply for the graph, leave the integration accuracy as default.
For on-line computing at point(s), set higher accuracy.

I think I know what to do with Maxima.
But I am not able to run it.

Hello.

I downloaded and unpacked the portable version
(2014 11 16 SMath and Maxima\Maxima-5.34.1). I tried to set the path to maxima.bat or to execute a maxima command
( MaximaControl ("cleanup" ) = ).

All I got is a dialog "Maxima does not answer" & the rotating cursor... Do I have to setup something more?

Maxima looks so interesting, but I am always not able to run it...

Bernard Liengme ("SMath for Physics" ) has made a machine translation of the pdf handbook, in his book he gives the link http://1drv.ms/11uZ6QE. This link does not seem to work for me, at least onedrive asks for a login, which I don't have.

You might ask Bernard for the translated pdf directly.

Working with NON-linear integrals: tips and illustration example.
An Smath fitting session would be very tedious, because in that kind
of work Smath is not scalar and so very slow.
