Used symbolic engine (Maple 6) does not always produce the same result. This is normal.
As far as I understand, no solution has been found. These large expressions are equivalent to the original equation. If the solutions are simplified, they will come down to him. Wolfram Alpha could not get an answer.

Great. Your maple plugin can. Just do sanity check for ensure that do not introduce false solutions.

The simple answer is: copy the result from fig.1 and paste it into SMath as its own independent equation.
There is another good reason for this (besides to prevent it from reworking the equation): Runtime
You already solved the equation in terms of 'δ'; no need to waste time and recourses to just solve the exact same equation 'eq' to be in terms of 'δ' every time.
