Hi all,



I looked the interesting topic on non-linear solvers in this forum .

As I have a practical problem to solve a non-linear equation, I tried to use the existing stuff and I failed ; probably that is mainly to my lack of ability on the matter.

Than I wrote, for my case, a variant of the old classical chord method, that works fine. As I haven't seen this solution among your methods, I wonder if this could be also used as generalised method for equations systems.

I attach here my tries for any case.

Hi Ioan,

Thank you for your example, has shown me that some functions have some problems with the unit, I'll check ASAP.

however many other functions work correctly (see the attachment)

[i]EDIT: from October 01, 2012 all NonLinearSolvers.dll solvers works with units

Hello Ioan,

w3b5urf3r is making efforts in order all of these function to work with units. We should be very grateful for that
I personally try to avoid units in these problems whenever I can. Please find attached your corrected example when I made the problem dimensionless. Most of the functions (as w3b5urf3r already mentioned) are working quite fine.

Thanks a lot for yours answers.

I fully agree that sometimes units handling could raise some problems; therefore in some of my engineering applications I proceeded to a starting units homogenisation step in order to keep the benefice of a free unit input with an accurate and simplified calculation.
