Polyroots, arrangement of solutions - Сообщения
WroteJean,
Thank you, I will reverse the order of the polynomial coefficients.
In my limited maths classes on school we were taught polynomials was supposed to be written on the form f(x)=ax2 bx c with descending powers. I was wondering why polyroots() needed the coefficients in the opposite order.
These three examples are in ascending order, they govern lot in CAS !
1. The cubic solver is from source [Mathsoft/Maple] ...
2. Polyroots was fundamental to tabulate orthogonal polynomial roots.
3. Most numerical approximation of functions are of the style [P(n)/(1+Q(n))]
Num/Denom in ascending order ... user application snippet below.
That leaves no room for your teacher to argue the working CAS maths.
Windows is delivered with [sin, cos, ln, exp Y^x ...]
from the style [P(n)/(1+Q(n))] in ascending order.
Please, never hesitate for more from Smath Community.
Take care ... Jean

Interesting, and much to learn for a novice.
Best regards,

As you can see, these two [Γ(x), Bessel] run in ascending order.
Jean.
