About the project
Traditionally, since the appearance of the first programs, their speed and available features are ever increasing, while user interfaces are getting more and more complicated. As a result, the non-professional users are unable to deal with these overcomplicated features. As intuitive user interfaces of modern operating systems evolve and computers become more and more powerful, this non-trivial problem is gradually receiving outstanding solutions in terms of simplicity of use. However, most of the mathematical programs are still utilizing user interfaces inherited from very first pocket calculators. It’s no secret that a “paper”-style of recording of mathematical expressions is the most convenient to users.
To fill this gap I introduce SMath Studio – mathematical program with “paper”-like interface and numerous computing features.
At present time this project is in active development stage. The program is being constantly improved and is available for download and use.
I will appreciate if you will report any errors and inaccuracies, as well as constructive comments and assistance in project support and development.

FaQ

1. Q: How to increase the number of rows/columns of a matrix, the number of elements of a system or the size of a graph?
   A: You have to put a cursor on an object (to the left or to the right). After this you will see a tag in the right lower corner of the object. Dragging this tag with a stylus results in above mentioned action.
   
   
2. Q: Why do some buttons have blue lines on their sides?
   A: These blue lines indicate additional features of a button. For example, if a blue line is positioned above the button (for example, letter “a” on symbolic panel) and you will drag this line upward, the letter will change its appearance and will display the new meaning (in this case it would be capital letter “A”). Correspondingly, if the blue indicator is on the left side, then it could be dragged to the left. Therefore, each button can have as much as five meanings. The most loaded buttons are the buttons representing trigonometric functions: on the top - inverse trigonometric functions, on the right – inverse hyperbolic functions, and on the bottom – hyperbolic functions. This is done to save space on the panels.
   
   
3. Q: Please, explain the meanings of the buttons of the main menu.
   A: Definitions of the buttons are presented in the following table: Undo the last operation (available only for an individual expression).
   Return to the last canceled action (available only for an individual expression).
   Cut selected expression or its part.
   Copy selected expression to the clipboard.
   Paste expression from the clipboard.
   Delete selected expression or its part.
   Recalculate all expressions on the worksheet.
   
4. Q: How to use an option “Calculate” from the program menu?
   A: You have to select an expression or its part and than use actions suggested by the program menu.

   - for('incriment','condition','action','body') - For loop.
   - while('condition','body') - Function of iterations. The cycle carries out a 'body' while the 'condition' is true. Important: in a 'body' any quantity of expressions by means of function line(...) can be set.
   - line(...) - Serves for drawing up a lines of subroutines.
   - matrix('rows','cols') - Returns a zero matrix of the sizes specified by arguments.
   
3. Support of the Spanish language of the interface is added.
   
4. Support of the Portuguese (Brazil) language of the interface is added.
   
5. Support of the Croatian language of the interface is added.
   
6. Support of the Serbian language of the interface is added.
   
7. Several errors and oversights were corrected.

5. Availability of inserting text regions into a worksheet. This feature is automated, so when the user inserts text or formula, the program will detect it and the user does not have to select "Menu" >> "Insert" >> "Text region" option in the menu.

7. Support of parameters (constants and user-defined parameters).
   
8. Support of functions (standart- and user-defined functions).
   
9. Unlimited size of worksheets and their quantity.
   
10. Copy, cut, paste, and delete of expressions and/or parts of expressions.
    
11. Tracking history of changes (undo, return).
    
12. Possibility of saving and opening of created worksheets while working in SMath Studio (.sm) file format.
    
13. Automatic saving of user’s preferences while exiting the program.
    
14. Possibility to change the font size of expressions, as well as their colors and background color.
    
15. Support of devices with any screen resolution and screen orientation (starting from 240x240 pixels and higher).

Hello, Why this version is not free? i need it (PPC), because this version use Net Framework 1.0 and working in HPC2000 (WIN CE 3.0) but only can use for few minutes and I can not prove it as i would like.

That's because this is a very old version of the software (see the year 2006), just check out the actual one (button Apps on the upper left side of the screen)!!

@smath: Can you please remove (or something similar) this posts so other users won't think this is a newer version!
