Hello Stephen,
I do not understand your question.
Could you be more specific please?

I think like this
a:=2
a=2
b:=3
b=3
c:=a+b
c=5
d:=a+c
d=7

Hello,
Do not forget that you do not need to put these regions in that particular order.
In SMath this is quite possible:
[MATH]d←a+c[/MATH]
[MATH]c←a+b[/MATH]
[MATH]a←2[/MATH]
[MATH]b←3[/MATH]
[MATH]d=7[/MATH]
[MATH]c=5[/MATH]
[MATH]a←10[/MATH]
[MATH]b←15[/MATH]
[MATH]c=25[/MATH]
[MATH]d=35[/MATH]
Regards,
Radovan
