SMath Studio 0.95.4594 (30 July 2012) - Сообщения
Absolutely free mathematical program with "paper"-like interface and numerous computing features (now with integrated mathematical reference book).
- Source code partially prepared to support Android version of SMath Studio;
- Symbolic engine error fixed appeared sometimes on simplification of expression under the square root and similar situations;
- IsString(..) function improved to correctly handle not defined variables;
- Fixed error of numeric engine appeared on checking equality between decimal and fraction values;
- Evaluable region Description improved to support position on the left of the region (in addition to top and right positions);
- Improvement to snippets done: now all the available snippet's title translations are included to collapsed Area on snippet insert;
- Added possibility to use features available from Region's context menu from the Region itself in Windows Forms application thread;
- Interface translations updated;
- Japanese [JPN] language translation added;
- Setup Installer and Portable package signed with digital certificate;

Is there a way of hosting the WIKI in a different way? My company's firewall setting sometimes "blocks" access to it. Especially when I click on a link within a forum response.
I like paper like interface, like in mathcad prime and I need calc app for ubuntu.
First thanks very much for this fine s/w product.
Now my problem:
I run a Linux system (openSuSE 12.1). Well, I exploded the tar ball under $HOME/bin/SMathStudio,
got a number of files but, alas, no README, no HOWTOINSTALL . What I got list as following:

trying to execute directly $./SMathStudio_Desktop.exe did not work!
trying to execute through wine $ wine ./SMathStudio_Desktop.exe generated an other list of protesting nonsense concluding "wine: Install Mono for Windows to run .NET 2.0 applications.".
I tried to install mono (?) but yast gives 76 packages most of which have obscure descriptions. What exactly does it mean to "install mono". The link provided at the SMath download page leads to a repository (http://download.mono-project.com/archive/3.0.3/linux/x64/) with ~25 packages - does one need them all?
Is there an installation howto somewhere that I am missing?
Any ideas on how to proceed?
Thanks in advance
Mimis
On Linux you need to install the package "libmono-winforms-2.0-cil" (or equivalent, on Ubuntu it's called libmono-winforms2.0-cil). To run SMath:
Open a terminal and cd into the directory where you extracted the SMath archive. Run mono SMathStudio_Desktop.exe and SMath will open up.
