Would you consider adding an option box for the default file save type? I would like to set SMath to default to .smz instead of .sm. I realize that I am probably in the minority but want to throw it out there.

Once you have constructed the Smath document, including miscellaneous stuff "files".
you can save *.sm or *.smz
Then isn't true that at re-opening *.smz you recover the file stuff as well ?

... on the other hand: not every/any Smath piece can be saved to file ...
i.e: the collector { can't be saved to file,
saved it otherwise vector style.
