1.
Download the current version
2. Unzip the archive to some folder (can be on an USB stick, the distribution is portable)
3. Run SMathStudio_Desktop.exe in the top level folder
4. Open Welcome.sm and follow the instructions to setup the Maxima interface.
Note: Sometimes the installation fails/doesn't work correctly under WIN10, perhaps due to file permissions or attributes and security settings of your local account.
Symptom is that SMath Studio starts with extremly limited functionality (very short Insert menu).
Workaround: Copy the downloaded folder to a flash drive and copy it back.
