I don't understand the conflict ... ?

maple(convert(sin(1.23456789),float,4))=0.944005725000000

sin(1.23456789)=0.944005725004535

Between SMath and Maxima there is no conflict. However, the trig functions in Maxima seem to be limited to ordinary double precision.
