Dear members,
in often times I need the variable x . Then in next time I make
in Example a differential of Function, and x is rember of value or defition.
In mathCad I remove a variable with x:=x.
What can I do in SMath ?
So many thanks for help.

Hi Topsi,
AFAIK the only way it's to use a 2nd empty variable.

Hello w3burf3r,
thanks for your help, but I can't type the symbol # in place holder.
A free new variable, that will be good. But in the teaching I will
have always the x - variable.
Have you a little helb for this new question.
Thanks for help

Hi
I know, it's not a wonderful solution... I've already attempted to create a Clear() function inside a plugin - nothing to do
You can post a Feature request in the forum, IMHO would be an useful feature
As for the # character, you must write at least one letter and then you can write the # before the first character (I don't know if this is a bug or a feature).

Hi,
An easy way to remove a variable is use another variable but undefined:

So, you must the "clean" variable undefined.

Sorry, does not work here. Clean removal would make X appear as result in the mapUnknown function from the NonLinearSolvers plugin.(see here).

All helpers,
many thanks,
sorry, but my problem ist not lost. That is very trouble of SMath that I can't
remove a variable. See what I meen:
x:=3
x=3
x:=clean
x=
f(x):=x³
d
- f(x)=3 clean²
dx
that is very bad.
I think in the next version it will be.
So if anywhere help me than I give thanks bevor.
