Hello,

I'm struggling with the 'min' function. Could someone please point out where I'm going wrong? Thank you.

Hi [userlink]nominal_diameter[/userlink],

as stated in the function description, min() returns the minimum value of a vector (or matrix), in a single argument. Same goes for max().

Hi nominal_diameter,
Try this way:

Thank you both for the response.

ioan92, the software won't allow me to use semicolons instead of comas, nothing happens when I push the semicolon button. How do I insert the semicolon?

Besides the semicolons, is there any difference that I'm missing?

Hi nominal_diameter

It is the use of the Min function rather than the min function that is important in this case.

The semicolon or comma is just the default separator for the list of values, set in the Tools menu under Options.

Hi,

I've tried using the Min function and still get the same result. I also tried entering a string of numbers to see if that would work, but no luck yet.

What is the error message returned by the function?

(Hover the mouse over the region to display the popup baloon or use the lastError variabile to display as string on canvas)

Hi Davide,

On both Min and min, the baloon says function is not defined.

It Is possible that you don't have the Custom functions plugin installed.

If that's the case, inside SMath Studio:
- go to Tools > Plugins...;
- switch Local storage into Online gallery;
- search the plugin in the list;
- download it.

Alternatively if you open a worksheet that contains a function from that plugin, the program will prompt a dialog to install it.

Once installed you should be able to use those functions, unless there is some bug 🐛, in that case we will investigate it further.

I didn't have the custom functions installed! I'm relatively new to Smath, I just recently switched over from mathcad. Thank you all for the help!
