Aligning text & variable with exponent - How to align bottom of text with bottom of an expression with an exponent? - Messages

When I use the Align "Horizontally" tool to align a text box with an expression with exponents... it aligns the text to the top of the exponent.
Is there anyway to have it align the text with the bottom of the expression's base?
Thanks.

Use a text region with embedded math regions (when in text, Insert> formula). The embedded math regions are active (those in the writer plugin are not) and are executed in the serial line sequence regardless what their vertical extent is. This may be misleading because you can't always easily guess whether a formula is inside a text region or just on the canvas.
This way you can create ambiguous relations between appearance and logic.

Once in "formula" mode how do you get back to text while in the same region?
