Thanks.Interesting how you've combined a background image

Do you really know what you want ?
Such a big horrible logo at the top of each page as you ask before ?
Or my suggestion from a saved *.sm that you open and immediately
copy/paste in blank sheet, close the original and go for the project ?
BTW: you don't have to save the logo image as whatever [*.PNG, *.BMP]
you capture, the word is capture from the screen and paste in Smath
work sheet. My preferred capture tool is WinGrab [freeware].

Did you open my attachment Smath document ?
Did the PDF opens ?

However, the downside is that it is a manual operation for each page ..
I can appreciate with the example pages you've kindly provided that its quite concise, & less likely to change. Conversely, with our kind of work it is likely to run to many pages, perhaps some dozens of pages .. and if there's a change (in the content length) on one page it affects all subsequent pages ..
(Also, the examples on yours demonstrate some of the power of SMath .. which I'm yet to plumb..)

Uh .. yes, ideally what was provided in the TEDDS exemplar .. in particular an automatic header at the top of each page, auto-populated with project & page number info, etc.

However, via the various communications I now appreciate this is not possible (currently) in SMath ..

Re: the logo comment, it was the concept that was important. Have appreciated yours - and his, input.

Good thing is it a personalized construction. If I would be your client, I would reject
having that stuff at top of each page, breaking the visual suite of project calculations
that span more than one sheet.

The footer is universal at bottom n/N
The header is by default:
1. Universal local time at the machine
2. Document identification

Header & Footer appear on the printed document, no need to have that crowd
the project work sheet. As your client, would reject that as well.
Add extra in the Header: &[DATE] &[TIME] - &[FILENAME] - [Rev_1: Geoff]




As plain as possible, text white background [254,254,254]
Once your company logo has been capture and pasted,
it is resident in the Smath work sheet, i.e: the saved Cartouche template.
Assume your are the Grand Savant of something, I'm your client.
For sure, if your maths are too much for me, I will have the design proofed
by some independent competence that will surely dislike the Cartouche at
the top of each page, particularly if I give him a PDF.

Both your observations are correct. Yes, when a new sheet is added the formatted labels are are copied and pasted to the new sheet. And when Areas are added to the calculation page expanding and contracting the area moves all the labels.

But you only do this once setting up the calculation sheet. And if this a repetitive calculation that is required on many projects then the pages are ready to go. I would guess you would say this is a work-around as opposed to something like a Word doc header.

I have a process that I believe is what you are trying to achieve. It takes more steps than I would like but the end result works.
I have the background in the .sm file so I can make sure my calcs fit on the page.
I print the .sm file to pdf.
I print the word file with header info to another pdf.
Then I use Adobe pro to add the header pdf as background to the calculation pdf.
I'm sure there are other pdf programs that can do the same thing.
As a quick example using your header the end result would look something like the attached.

Thanks all, I believe we've well explored and probed the possibilities within the current capabilities of the software..

While aware from the outset of the 'Page1.pdf' example posted (thank you), I was originally seeking to implement this directly within SMath, similar to e.g. TEDDS, which we're currently using, as well as MathCad

In this vein, I've been in contact with Andrey, and it looks like there is strong a likelihood that formatted header capability will be implemented directly within SMath itself in the not-too-distant future .. so watch this space !!

Interesting for those interested.
If you are using PTC/Mathcad to complement TEDDS, why do you need Smath for ?
Smath is by far not exhausted, yet. And in many ways hard and demanding to use.

You can edit the not compressed sm file to implement this directly within SMath, in this case just for put new lines in the header. In combination with page background, you can get a good header inside SMath.
