I have a long formula, it will not fit on one line in a standard sheet. I can't see what I am typing, and can't tell if the formula is correct. What do I need to do to see it? If I put a return in the formula, to continue it on the next line, it still does not work.

Get used to attach the Smath work sheet. Only patient can be doctored.

There are surely ways to simplify/split/compact/collect a formula from foreign source
or from invented construction as understood from your typing.
Examine Hypersurface.
The other long expansion arrive from symbolic expansion [eq(t) from maple invlaplace]
For that one, you can recompose by separating NumDen.
Isolate Num, evaluate the pieces, substitute ... etc.
Recompose the all lot in shorter expression.
The longest expansion I have encountered was 23 pages wide.
There are several ways to skin the cat.
